The Palisades Elementary Foundation (PEF) was created in 2018 to improve the quality of education at Palisades Elementary School for all students. The PEF is a 501(c) (3) non-profit volunteer organization located in Capistrano Beach (City of Dana Point).
Our students come from Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, and San Clemente. We are a Title 1 school - this means that over 40% of our students are at or below poverty level and need our help to meet academic standards, and close achievement gaps. We also have a large SAC (Structural Autism Classes) program. Palisades serves students from Laura’s House - a state-approved comprehensive domestic violence agency that provides residential shelter services, etc.
We raise funds to support programs, resources and experiences that enrich every Palisades student, including:
Year-round and after-school enrichment programs, such as:
Marine Biology with renowned marine biologist Nancy Caruso
Spring Art in partnership with rotating Sawdust Festival artists
Fall Theater in partnership with Laguna Playhouse, with past productions including Disney’s Moana KIDS, Aladdin KIDS and The Lion King KIDS
Spring Dance with professional dance instructor and choreographer Kim Wright
Teacher grants for classroom materials, instructional tools and equipment
Staff support and professional development, including learning and training opportunities
Campus improvements and special projects — from playground equipment and sensory gardens to facility upgrades. If Palisades needs it, we are on it!
Our Palisades community is thriving and truly embodies the spirit of our beach-centric Ohana life. Our Hosted Events are held throughout the school year for parents and students to get together, get to know each other, and get funds raised for our programs and campus. You do not have to be a current Palisades family to join the fun. We encourage ALL members of our community to join our events, donate raffle goods, buy tickets, and get to know us!
